How and when should I complete Medicare revalidation?

Revalidate your Medicare enrollment when your Medicare Administrative Contractor(MAC) notifies you, generally every five years(every three years for DMEPOS suppliers). Respond within 60 days of the notification to avoid losing billing privileges. 

The most efficient way to complete revalidation is online through PECOS(Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System). Alternatively, individual providers use the CMS-855I form, while groups and suppliers use the CMS-855B.

If an electronic funds transfer(EFT) was not previously set up for the group record, one needs to be created for the revalidation process.
